It begins. (Or, What's up, danger?)
“It’s a leap of faith, Miles. That’s all it is, a leap of faith.”
In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a young Miles Morales asks an older Peter Parker when he’ll know he’s ready to be Spider-Man. Miles later finds his own power and makes his first terrifying, thrilling jump from the top of a New York skyscraper.
I have recently taken my own leap of faith, as I’ve launched a leadership coaching practice called Peaceful Direction. This will be my full-time work as of early November.
Coaching is a powerful means of exploration and inquiry that helps leaders grow. I know this growth is possible because my clients have experienced it, and so have I.
My own coaching journey began almost five years ago, when my first coach helped me transform my career. I emerged from that experience wanting to help others as my coach had helped me.
I’ve been guiding leaders, both experienced and emerging, in their professional growth for a number of years informally — and consider this a calling. I’m more than a little nervous to be working for myself after decades of working for others, but I’m also incredibly excited for the opportunity.
I’ve never suffered a spider bite and I won’t be slinging webs to catch villains, but I am looking for clients. And that’s why I’m asking for your help.
Please share this post with two people who might benefit from coaching. This could be anyone from a rising manager to an experienced executive, as long as they’re ready for growth. Or a forward-thinking HR person within an organization. An introduction is all I need — I’ll do the rest.
You can also join my mailing list, to learn more about Peaceful Direction and get insights about leadership from time to time.
In gratitude,
Alan
